Darshana Patel is the Director of Transit Services of Lumenor Consulting Group. Ms. Patel brings over 7 years of Public Transit experience particularly in fare collection technology implementations, strategic planning and project management. Prior to joining Lumenor Consulting Group, Ms. Patel was instrumental in the implementation of the fare collection projects at the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). Ms. Patel has strong hands on experience in strategic and program planning; design, development, testing and implementation of fare collection systems; contract negotiations; credit/debit transaction clearing and settlement; transaction fees and fraud analysis; revenue reconciliation; contactless bankcard payment systems.

Ms. Patel holds a Bachelor’s of Engineering in Production from India and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in Management Information Systems (MIS) from University of Illinois at Chicago. Ms. Patel has been an active American Public Transportation Association (APTA) member and had co-chaired the APTA, Fare System and Programs Committee’s Technologies Subcommittee to published white papers related to emerging fare management technologies. In addition, Ms. Patel had been a technical contributor to the APTA Universal Transit Farecard Standards (UTFS) Program.
