Infrastructure Support Consultants (5 Positions)1. AIX System AdministratorThe AIX System Administrator will perform AIX / UNIX system trouble-shooting and performance tuning for all UNIX system problems and provide direct support for the County’s UNIX computers and IBM AIX RS/6000 servers utilizing Power4 and Power5 architecture, Logical Partioning (LPAR) and Dynamic Logical Partitioning (DLPAR). The Administrator shall be responsible for creating and maintaining users, user environments, directories, security, and access for all computers. The Administrator shall develop scripts to automate administrative functions. Additionally, The Administrator will facilitate and take direct responsibility for the planning, installation, configuration, and deployment of AIX based server(s). The Administrator shall provide project support for configuring, installing and developing new UNIX based software solutions; setup and maintain backup/disaster recovery, job schedulers; and perform other system operations process for UNIX and Wide Area Network (WAN). Windows Systems AdministratorThe Windows Systems Administrator will perform system management/operation, configuration management, troubleshooting, preventative/corrective maintenance, resource management, performance monitoring and enhancement. The Windows Systems Administrator will ensure that computer systems and operating systems are compliant with established configuration guidelines. The responsibilities will be in the area of Microsoft server, Web server, database administration, operation, and maintenance. The Administrator must possess knowledge of MS IIS, SQL Server, and Windows Microsoft 2000/2003/2005/2008 Server. The Administrator shall be responsible for creating standards, policies, and procedures; and setting and maintaining system security, licensing management, capacity planning.
3. Storage Architect/AdministratorThe Storage Architect/Administrator will plan, design, and analyze the organization’s storage infrastructure according to best practices, while ensuring high levels of data quality and availability. The Architect/Administrator shall develop,
implement, and oversee policies and procedures to ensure consistent storage provisioning, uptime, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, The Architect/Administrator shall be responsible for capacity planning, backup and restore process design, performance analysis, and developing data disaster recovery plans. The Architect/Administrator will perform capacity planning analysis and other needs assessments to inform storage architecture strategy. Storage Competencies:
4. Field Service SpecialistThe Field Service Specialist installs and maintains multi-user computer systems including hardware, software, peripherals, and network connectivity. Additional tasks include troubleshooting issues and consulting with users to resolve problems with their computer operations and maintains records of services performed. The Specialist configures, installs, and supports computer workstations, peripherals, hardware/software upgrades. Provide instruction on clients on basic computer usage. The Field Service Specialist shall verify applications, installations, customization, system hardware/software configurations and settings to ensure proper user functionality. The Specialist shall ensure all systems are in compliance with the County’s standard configuration. Field Service Specialist Competencies:
5. Help Desk AnalystThe Help Desk Analyst will provide first line helpdesk support to internal customers, assisting with hardware and software problems via phone, email or fax. The Analyst documents all service requests from inception to resolution to enable accurate trend analysis and reporting. The Help Desk Analyst also will answer, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve computer/network and technical questions/problems and provide clients access to network applications.
