The Oracle E-Business Database Administrator will possess expertise and knowledge of the latest versions of Oracle database including data definition; database architecture; flow analysis; data modeling; performance tuning; relational database design; backup and recovery; PL/SQL; and application implementation. Support in analysis, implementation of upgrades and support of Oracle E-Business Suite based solutions are required. The Administrator shall have a proven background and current experience in Oracle 11i. The Administrator also maintains and controls the integrity of the data and security, utilizing security best practices to ensure data integrity. The Administrator also maintains, develops, and recommends techniques and methodologies to enhance application performance; analyzes system requirements; and determines optimal data structure. The Administrator recommends hardware and software selection, implementation, and maintenance.
Oracle E-Business Database Administrator Competencies:
- Experience with Oracle database up to the latest releases, as of the date of this RFP
- Installation of Oracle software and upgrades
- Experience with database logical and physical design and creation
- Experience with Database backups and recovery procedures using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)
- Experience with database and application performance tuning
- Knowledge of application implementation in a distributed environment
- Knowledge of software maintenance
- Knowledge on how to control the integrity of database data
- Experience with Oracle database security
- Ability to provide technical support to application developers
- Knowledge of PL/SQL tuning

- Excellent understanding of Oracle Application Middle-Tier with sound maintenance capability of components parts (Apache, Jserv)
- Experience with parallel concurrent processing
- Experience in cloning/refresh of application instances and patching requirements of one-off and maintenance packs patches
- Experience with Oracle Application System Administration (user creation and assignment of responsibilities, printer definitions, concurrent processes creation / monitoring)
- Experience with Oracle Workflow processes configurations / maintenance and Oracle Discoverer
The Oracle E-Business Database/Application Technical Architect will have advanced knowledge of Oracle database design and technical architecture and be capable of carrying out research to determine the structure (architecture) design. Other tasks include building, testing, implementation and maintenance of software. This category requires an understanding of programming or program design and requires an understanding of both hardware and software associated with system design.
- Oracle Applications Technical Architect Competencies:
- Oracle database design and technical architecture
- Capable of designing/implementing N-Tier architecture, parallel concurrent processing business continuity (disaster recovery) implementation, Single Sign-On/Secure Socket Layer (SSO/SSL) integration with LDAP
- Capable of designing/ensuring enterprise user security and implementation of Oracle security best practices
- Capable of designing/implementing conversion of Oracle Applications in existing single node architecture to Real Application Clusters (RAC) architecture with infusion of multiple web servers forming a web farm and load balancing
- Capable of implementing Share Apple-top between web servers in a “web farm’ and deployment of web host in Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) environment

The SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) will possess expertise and knowledge of latest versions of Microsoft SQLServer database including data definition; database architecture; flow analysis; replication; log shipping and high availability clustering; data modeling; Data Transformation Services (DTS); performance tuning; relational database design; backup and recovery; Transact-SQL (T-SQL); and application implementation. The SQLServer DBA functions will
include Microsoft software maintenance; managing the physical and logical aspects of the databases; and providing technical support to 3rd party applications and application developers in the areas of physical and logical database design; SQL tuning; use of Microsoft utilities; and troubleshooting problem applications. The DBA will maintain and control the integrity of the data, and security, utilizing security best practices to ensure data integrity. Responsibilities shall also include maintenance, development, and recommendation of techniques and methodologies to enhance application performance. The DBA must be able to analyze system requirements and determine optimal data structure and recommend hardware and software selection, implementation, and maintenance. Knowledge of Windows operating system is a plus.
